Universal Declaration of Human Rights Day with Awareness DrivesKolhapur,

10 December 2025: Hundreds of citizens, activists, and students took to the streets of Kolhapur city on Tuesday to observe walk for International Human Rights Day, emphasizing the urgent need for human rights education and the promotion of universal brotherhood in society, and necessity of rights in human day-to-day routine.
The day began with a massive rally that commenced from Kawala Naka and culminated at the Meri Wanlase Medical College campus. Participants carried colourful flex banners, artistic posters 30 Articles UDHR and raised powerful slogans Human Rights Our Rights, Human Rights Birth Rights Human Rights Natural Rights, highlighting the importance of human rights awareness and its practical implementation.
Following the rally, a special programme was organized in the college meeting hall where educators, volunteers, and practicing advocates delivered guest lectures on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The speakers stressed the role of education in fostering equality, dignity, and fraternity.
In a touching gesture of inclusivity, lunch was served to all participants along with members of an adult of Intelectule disseabled persons team supported by a local NGO.
Later in the day, a legal awareness session was conducted at the Kolhapur Bench of the Bombay High Court(with Adv. Rakesh Shinde – ex Principal of Anandi law college Kolhapur )Copies of the booklet “What are Human Rights – Find Out” were formally presented to the High Court as part of efforts to strengthen judicial and public understanding of fundamental rights.
Satara District, December 11: Continuing the momentum, the District Legal Services Authority, Karad Taluka, in collaboration with the Youth for Human Rights (YFHR) team, organized a day-long human rights workshop at Khubi Village Gram Panchayat on Thuresday
Hon’ble Senior District Judge Shri Ghule graced the occasion as Chief Guest and delivered an insightful lecture on the significance and protection of human rights.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from villagers, farmers, women, health workers, revenue officials, primary school teachers, and local government functionaries. Copies of the “What are Human Rights – Find Out” booklet were widely distributed among attendees to spread awareness at the grassroots level.kolhapur and Satara YFHR, India Team Adv. The two-day events across Kolhapur and Satara districts(Bar association & legal Aid Panel’s of Karad district court – President -Adv Thorat and Sr. Advocate Bharat and team) underscored a collective commitment to making human rights education accessible and fostering a culture of universal brotherhood in society.
