Youth for Human Rights India Submits Petition to Social Justice Minister Ramdas Athawale for Mandatory Human Rights Education”

Pune date 11 June 2026
Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri. Ramdas Bandu Athawale has formally endorsed a petition advocating that human rights education be instituted as a mandatory subject across India’s school curriculum. The initiative aims to strengthen civic awareness, promote equality and safeguard vulnerable communities through structured, nationwide instruction. United For Human Rights, Los Angeles, praised Advocates Vikas Maske and Kishore Jadhav of the Satara Bar Association for their contributions; both were designated as valuable special invitees to a forthcoming UN-affiliated international meeting in Bangkok next month. Organizers say the petition’s momentum could prompt substantive policy discussion at both national and international forums.
